Sarasota Herald Tribune Fish Story

In an article entitled "Couple open Country Creek garden for a cause" in the Sarasota Herald Tribune, a couple is interviewed about their Koi pond.

One of the owners is quoted "Carl's oldest fish is 13 but, he says, Koi routinely live to 100 if they survive infancy and grow to more than three inches."

In actuality, Koi routinely live from 20 to 30 years.  Most grow to be 12 to 24 inches, while the lucky ones with jumbo genetics grow to over three feet in length.

If you look at one of the photos accompanying the article, you will see that their pond is full of Koi that are larger than three inches.
