Blacky Baby Fry

Hello, can you help me? My Koi carp mated 3 mouths ago and I have loads of fry. They are about one inch long now, but they are still all blacky gray color. When do they get their colors? The koi carp that bred were all different colors. I have no black Koi in my pond. Will they change? - Darby

Ninety five percent of fry that Koi produce have little or no color. Unfortunately, he fry in your pond probably fall into that percentage. Koi have their colors as soon as they emerge from their eggs. Some change, but since yours were from a random spawning, they will probably stay black.
